These 10 Minute Crispy Air Fryer Roasted Pumpkin Seeds are the perfect fall snack to nibble on after raking leaves or to take on a leaf peeping hike.

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds are such a great fall snack that most of us look forward to making a batch every year. While I love my standard garlic salt version, this year we chose to use Pumpkin Pie Spice and Cinnamon Sugar versions and they both were fabulous. And if you know how fast and easy it is to cook in your Air Fryer, you know this is silly simple to make!
🍴Why This Recipe Works
Simple – We love to give you guys easy and simple recipes that won’t create problems. We’ve all had those recipes where we try to make something, it goes wrong and we get frustrated. We want to create simple recipes that you can walk away proud of and want to make again. This recipe fits that goal and then some!
Variety – There are endless ways to make these roasted seeds and just because we used pumpkin pie spice on ours, you should use what you like. So, if you normally use garlic salt and a tad bit of pepper, do that! (But cook them in the Air Fryer for a hands-off technique.)
Free – They are a free snack since you already bought your pumpkin, right?
🎃 Ingredients

Pumpkin Seeds – You can get the pumpkin seeds out of a larger jack o lantern or you can even get them from a small pumpkin pie or sugar pumpkin. They all work for this recipe.
Seasonings – We used Pumpkin Pie spice (and later used Cinnamon Sugar and loved it even more!!!) but think about all those seasonings you have in your spice cabinet that would be fun to add here. We made a batch out on the grill and used more savory spices from Dizzy Pig. You really can’t go wrong so just have fun with it.
🍽️ Instructions
Remember, these are simple and sweet so the brain won’t need to work too much for this recipe. We need those after crazy Halloween weeks that pull us in a dozen directions.

Step One: Strain the pumpkin seeds and run water over them. While you’re doing that, pull off any excess pumpkin meat that is attached to the seeds. Rinse well and dry them on a paper towel.
Step Two: Toss pumpkin seeds with a little spray olive oil and then sprinkle on the pumpkin pie spice (or whatever one you are going to use) and then spread them on the Air Fryer in a single layer.
Step Three: Preheat Air Fryer at 350 degrees and then place the seeds inside for 10 minutes, turning or shaking to re-adjust them at the halfway point.
Remove them from the Air Fryer and allow them to cool. Store in air tight container for up to 5 days.
Pro Tip: Make sure to always lay out your food in the Air Fryer on a single layer with room for the air to flow around the food. You want to make sure that the air can circulate or you won’t get the crispy food you are looking for. That may mean that you need to cook in batches in the but I find the ease and end result are 100% worth it every time!
Variations
There are endless ways to season these little seeds, as I’ve mentioned but here are a few favorites.
Garlic salt + pepper – This is a family favorite.
Seasoned Salt – We love Trader Joe’s and Lawry’s versions.
Salt – Keep it simple with just a simple salt.
Spice Mixes – Look in your spice cabinet and see what you have. My husband used a spice mix from Dizzy Pig Seasonings for a super yummy batch out on the grill. The options are limitless for these seeds.
Recipe FAQ
I used the small sugar pumpkins from my pumpkin purée and got just under one cup of seeds from each pumpkin. When I use the larger jack ‘o lantern pumpkins, I usually get just over one cup.
Store them in an air tight container for up to 5 days.
Funny that you would think they should, but they didn’t for us and we’ve done a few batches now. You will hear one or two POP in there but that’s it.
These little seeds are packed full of magnesium, zinc and antioxidants so feel confident that you are nibbling on something pretty healthy.
