20 Minute Black Beans
Easy side dish ready in just a few minutes using mostly ingredients you have on hand.
- 16 oz black beans
- 1/2 lime use juice
- 1 sweet onion
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp green chilis chopped
- 1 tbsp garlic minced
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 ½ tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
Grease pan. Saute onion and garlic until onion is soft or about 5-7 minutes.
Mix in beans, green chilis and lime juice. Add warm water and tomato paste. Sitre until tomato paste is thoroughly combined.
Season with salt and pepper (to taste).
Simmer on medium heat for 12-15 minutes
Remove from heat. Let cool slightly before seeing and enjoy with brown rice.
