Sweet Air Fryer Asian Chicken Wings
Super Easy Sweet Asian Air Fryer Chicken Wings will be your new family favorite. Cooking in the air fryer is a game changer!
Servings 3 servings
- 1 lb chicken wings
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup corn starch
- 1/2 cup corn meal
- garlic salt to taste
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 spray olive oil
- 1 bottle Sweet Asian Chili Sauce
- sesame seeds to sprinkle on top
- green onions chopped to top on wings
Prepare the Coating for the Chicken Wings
Lay the wings out on waxed paper, and sprinkle the wings with garlic salt, and seasoned salt.
In a medium dish, add the milk and egg, and beat together until well blended. In another medium dish, add the flour, corn starch and corn meal, and mix well. Add the onion powder, garlic powder and paprika to the flour mixture, and mix until well blended.
Dip the wings in the milk/egg dish, and then roll in the flour dish until well coated.
Place the coated wings in the air fryer, and spray with the spray olive oil.
Air Fry the Chicken Wings
Turn the air fryer on, and set the temperature to 375, and set the time to 12 minutes. When the air fryer is done, turn the wings, and spray the wings lightly with the spray olive oil, and cook for 12 more minutes.
When the wings are done cooking, pour half of the Sweet Chili Sauce into a large bowl, and place the wings in the chili sauce, tossing and coating them. Remove the wings from the sauce with tongs, and place on a platter, or plates, and serve immediately. Top with sesame seeds sprinkled on top of wings, and green onions. Enjoy!
If you haven't eaten Sweet Asian Chili Sauce, it is a little sweet, and it is hot. You can typically find it in any grocery store, in the Asian section.
We have just made these again but just by using plain chicken wings and they were equally wonderful! I lost all the coating but didn't necessarily miss it! So if you are out of milk or don't want to coat these, feel free to try them without! You will not be disappointed at all!
The calorie content on this one seems high because you are using the entire bottle of Sweet Asian Chili Sauce. When I cooked these again, I only used ⅓ of the bottle and was equally happy! This is a great way to cut down those calories without sacrificing the taste!
