Whip up a batch of homemade Kings Hawaiian Rolls! This is one of my go-to recipes for soft and fluffy dinner rolls. Learn how to proof dough in an Instant Pot! It speeds up the rising of the dough so you can devour your homemade rolls faster.
Add the sugar, water and yeast to a bowl. Stir and let sit for 10 minutes. A layer of foam should appear.
Add the flour and mix with a dough hook in your stand mixer until a ball forms.
Coat the Instant Pot liner generously with oil. Add the ball of dough.
Cover and set to yogurt mode for 40 minutes. Knead the dough every ten minutes. It will double in size.
Remove the dough and divide into nine equal parts. Roll each part into a dough ball forming a smooth roll.
Place rolls in an 8 x 8 baking pan that’s been oiled.
Cover rolls with a damp cloth and let sit for 15 minutes.
Bake in the oven on 350°f for 15 minutes.
Must Use Yogurt Setting: You need to use the lower temperature of the yogurt setting, otherwise, it will cook your dough. You just want a warm environment to help the dough rise. Instant Pot with No Yogurt Function: If you don't own an Instant Pot with the yogurt button, you can proof the dough the traditional way. Grease a bowl, place dough in, cover and let it sit 1-2 hours until it doubles in size. Adjust Sweetness: You can adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding less or more sugar. Storage: Store your dinner rolls in an airtight container on the counter for about 3 days. Freezer Friendly: Freeze these for 3-4 months by flash freezing on sheet pans for 6 hours and then placing in freezer safe bags. This will allow you to take one out at a time.
