Add the hash browns in a single layer, or use a stackable tray to cook a few more at once.
Cook for 10 minutes. Extra crispy hash browns may require an additional 2 -3 minutes.
Notes
Seasoning Tips: Add a little salt to the hash browns as they come out of the air fryer unless they were pre-seasoned. Oftentimes, frozen potatoes will come with cooking oil already applied. However, if you find that your favorite brand does not crisp up the way you want or seem extra dry, try spritzing them with a high heat oil such as olive oil or coconut oil before putting them in the air fryer next time. This also helps your seasoning stick.Basket Style: This recipe is for a basket-style air fryer. If you have a tray-style air fryer or a convection oven, you may need to adjust the cooking times accordingly.Multiple Batches: If you plan to make subsequent batches of hashbrown patties in the air fryer, you may need to reduce the cooking time. Check them before ten minutes because a really hot air fryer cooks faster. How Long to Cook: If you want super crunchy hashbrowns they may take up to fifteen minutes, but the typical range is 10-13 minutes at 375ºF. Some air fryers have set temperatures with a minimum of 390ºF so you may have to adjust the time accordingly.Don't Defrost: Hashbrowns do not need to be thawed to cook in the air fryer and in fact cooking them from frozen will help prevent sogginess.
