The price of those fancy designed notebooks during back-to-school season always made my jaw drop. And there was always a bit of pressure on the first day of school to have the cool stuff. My solution is both cheaper and more creative! These free printable coloring book covers for teens let them make something totally unique for their backpack that no one else will have!

Transitioning from adventurous summers to boring school routines can be a bit tough for everyone. I loved finding cool activities for my son to brighten up the days before the new school season started.
These awesome coloring book covers will give your teen a chill and creative activity before and during the school year – it’s never too late to pimp your book covers, right?
⬇️ Grab It Now
If you’re ready to start the coloring fun, here are simple instructions for downloading and printing these book covers.
How do I get the printables?
Easy! Just pop your name and best email address into the subscription box right below this section. Once you hit the “Grab It Now” button, I’ll send the download link straight to your inbox.
I don’t see the email, where could it be?
Sometimes it can take a minute or two to show up. Be sure to give your spam or promotions folder a little peek, as emails can sometimes end up there!
How do I print the pages?
Once you’ve downloaded and saved the PDF file to your device, open it with a PDF reader (the free Adobe Reader is my go-to) and select ‘Print’.
The pages are already sized for standard U.S. Letter paper to make it simple. However, you can always adjust the scale or change the type of paper in your printer settings if you’re using a different paper size.
And that’s it! Happy coloring!
📕 Printable Coloring Book Covers For Teens
This is a collection of 10 covers – I tried to add something for every mood!
👉Five of the covers have an open space for labeling the books and binders. We sometimes need to be organized, our teens included! The other five are just packed with cool graphics. Sometimes it’s okay to let the art do all the talking.
All were designed to print for standard U.S. Letter paper and ready to use as soon as the ink dries.

📄 From Coloring Pages to Custom Covers
Okay, so you colored a few or maybe all of these awesome sheets. But how do you turn them into custom covers?
It’s actually super easy but a little different depending on what your covering so here are my two favorite methods.
📂 For Binders with Clear Sleeves
I love this! It’s so fast and you can easily swap out the designs whenever you feel like it! Most standard binders have a clear plastic overlay on the front cover.
🔹Simply trim your colored page to size with scissors (if needed), slide it right into the sleeve, and you’re done in 60 seconds!
📒 For Notebooks & Decorating Front Covers
This method is great for personalizing spiral notebooks, composition books, the front of a textbook, or a plain binder.
🔹Trim to Fit – Place your colored page on the front cover of your book or notebook. Trim any excess paper from the edges with scissors to get a perfect fit.
🔹Attach the Page – For the smoothest look, I recommend using a glue stick or double-sided tape to tack the page down so it doesn’t move around.
🔹Secure the Edges – Finish by taping along all four edges with clear packing tape. This gives it a clean, sealed look and protects the edges from peeling up in a backpack.
📌Tip: If you want the cover to be extra durable and water-resistant, you can cover it with clear contact paper (self-adhesive laminating sheets). It’s a simple step that really helps your beautiful artwork live longer!
🎨 Looking for More Coloring Fun?
My new coloring hobby is quickly turning into an obsession! I might have gone a little overboard creating pages.

If you or your teen are looking for more designs that are purely for relaxation and fun, you should definitely grab my free printable ornamental coloring pages for teens as well. They’re great for the grown-ups too, and such a relaxing activity to keep us away from our devices just a little bit longer.
It’s been so fun getting into coloring as an adult. I’d love to know if any other parents have picked up this relaxing hobby alongside their kids!
