🦕Tips For Making Dino Coloring More Fun
I may not have had these cute dinosaur coloring pages when Spencer was little, but he did love to color, so I learned some tricks to make it even more fun and creative.
The easiest thing to do is make sure you have a variety of art supplies. Crayons, markers, and colored pencils are great, but your little one will surely get even more creative if you throw in some other things like:
- Metallic markers for a cool, shimmery effect.
- Googly eyes for instant personality and a touch of silliness!
- Gel pens, especially the glittery or milky-colored ones.
- Small pom-poms to add fun, fuzzy 3D texture.
- Dot markers, which are perfect for making spots or filling in large areas.
- Sequins or craft jewels to give a dinosaur some sparkle.
- Scrunched-up tissue paper for creating textured volcanoes or plants.
- Stickers! Things like stars, leaves, or shiny dots are perfect for decorating the background.
🖍️ Turn Coloring Time Into An Educational Adventure
These pages are fantastic for a simple, quiet activity. But if you want to stretch the fun out a little longer and sneak in some learning, here are a few ideas to try:
📌Dino Fun Facts – As you color each dinosaur, look up one simple and fun fact about it together. Was it a plant-eater or a meat-eater? Did it have a long tail or a spiky one? You can even try to guess how to pronounce its name!
📌Story Time – What is the dinosaur doing in the picture? Is the T-Rex mom teaching her baby how to roar? Is the Diplodocus looking for a tasty leaf? Make up a little story for each page to get their imagination going.
📌Create a Prehistoric Scene – After the coloring is done, have your little one carefully cut out the dinosaurs with safety scissors. They can tape them to popsicle sticks to make puppets or create a whole dinosaur world in a shoebox or on a large sheet of paper.
