One day I was coming out of a grocery store, juggling a few too many bags, and spotted a tiny rubber duck, sitting on my Jeep’s door handle, looking cheerful. My first thought was that one of the neighborhood kids must have left it behind!
But then I noticed the little tag attached to it, and learned I had been “ducked”. Of course, I did some research and discovered this wonderful tradition in the Jeep community.

The little duck now has a permanent spot on my dashboard, and I couldn’t help myself to join in and pass on the good vibes.

🚘 What in the World is Duck Duck Jeep?
The idea is simple and sweet: you get a rubber duck (yes, the kind that toddlers play with in the tub), attach a little note or tag, and place it on a Jeep you admire.
It’s a fun activity and a friendly way to say “Hey, nice ride!” to a fellow Jeep owner.
🦆 Adorable Jeep Ducking Tags
To make your ducking adventures even easier and more fun, we’ve designed two unique tags for you to download and print.
Your Jeep is Quacktastic

Awesome Jeeps are really defined with their unique headlights and front grill. This printable tag calls out that defining quality and is sure to let the Jeep owner know how much you appreciate the work they put into their ride.

You’ve Been Ducked

This duck in a jeep is simple, classic and a wee bit elegant! Jeep owners will appreciate the classic lines of the graphics almost as much as they’ll enjoy the duck itself! Be creative and make your ducking adventure truly memorable.

Spotted: Awesome Jeep in the Wild!

I just love this little guy! This circular tag is designed to look like a tire tread and features an adorable detective duck with a magnifying glass. It’s perfect for those moments when you spot a truly impressive Jeep and want to let the owner know their awesome rig has been noticed.

Saw Your Rig & Had to Say… Quack!

This tag is bold, fun, and gets right to the point! With a cool tire track pattern on the side, it features a happy duck holding a sign that says it all: “Quack!” It’s a playful and friendly way to give a fellow Jeeper a little laugh.

Alternatively, you can use double sided sticky tape. Time to go ducking!

📌 Tips for Your First ‘Ducking’ Adventure
Once you have your tags printed, you’re almost ready to go! Here are a couple of quick tips to make your ducking mission a total success.
Finding the Perfect Ducks
First things first, you’ll need some ducks! The great news is you don’t need anything fancy – any regular rubber duck will bring a smile. I’ve found that buying them in multi-packs is the most budget-friendly way to go, especially if you plan on ducking more than one Jeep.
You can usually find bags of them at:
- Party supply stores
- Dollar stores
- On Amazon (this is great for bulk orders!)
- In the party favor or baby sections of Target or Walmart
📌Tip: Get creative with it! Sometimes you can find themed ducks, like holiday ducks, pirates, or superheroes. Matching a special duck to a Jeep’s theme or color is a fun way to add an extra personal touch!

Where to Place the Duck
The goal is to place the duck somewhere it will be easily seen by the owner but won’t fly away as soon as they drive off. The most popular spot, and where I found mine, is right on the driver’s side door handle.
Some other safe and fun spots include:
- Tucked onto the side mirror
- Sitting on the front bumper (if it’s flat!)
- On the hood, right in front of the windshield
- Hooked on the antenna
I hope you have a blast with these tags! There’s something so special about finding a little surprise that brightens your day, and this is such a simple way to do that for someone else.
