My vacuum cleaner usually needs a vacation after Mardi Gras, but my heart? It’s always happy! I love that vibrant, joyful energy in my home, so I whipped up the most festive free printable Mardi Gras banner to kick off the celebration!

Though I haven’t yet made it to Bourbon Street for Mardi Gras, I always dream of all the fun happening down there. The next best thing is to bring a piece of that iconic celebration right into my home.
But I’m not much of a crafter, and my cravings for easy decor manifested as this free printable Mardi Gras banner!
It has everything you need to spell out any festive message you can imagine: the entire alphabet, symbols (?, !, and &), and a cute divider, all printing perfectly on regular U.S. Letter paper.
⚜️ DIY Mardi Gras Banner

There’s something truly special about party decor you’ve put together yourself. It adds a little extra heart to the celebration, doesn’t it? And those store-bought banners cost a pretty penny and never quite say what you want them to.
Luckily, this printable Mardi Gras alphabet banner lets you spell any message you want. Putting it together is super easy.
👉Step 1 – Decide what message you want to spell.
👉Step 2 – Count how many of each letter, symbol, and divider you need, then print them (ideally on cardstock for sturdiness).
👉Step 3 – Use a paper cutter and a ruler for the pennants which have only straight lines. The divider is round so a pair of scissors works best for this one.
👉Step 4 – Grab some pretty ribbon, baker’s twine, or even sturdy string. Then you can punch holes in the pennants and thread your string or ribbon through the holes. I’m not a fan of punching holes, so I prefer to secure the pennants using double-sided sticky tape or a quick-drying craft glue.
🖨️ Grab It Now
✔️Fill in the fields below with your name and email. Then, hit the ‘Grab It Now’ button.
✔️You’ll get a message with the download link in your inbox. Open it, click the download link and save the PDF to your device.
✔️Open it with a PDF reader (such as the free Adobe Reader). If you’re printing on U.S. Letter paper there’s no need to change anything. However, you can change the paper size (A4, A5, etc…) and you can also adjust the Scale setting if using other types of paper.
✔️Hit the Print button and enjoy!
💡Tip: Print on cardstock for a sturdier, more professional look! You can even laminate the pennants and keep them for the next Fat Tuesday.

🎭 More Free Mardi Gras Party Printables!
Besides the banner, we need two more things to really celebrate Mardi Gras. Masks and photo signs. So I designed both to form a matching trio with the banner.

These Mardi Gras mask templates come in two sizes: 7.5 inches wide and 8.5 inches wide, so kids, teens, and parents can enjoy them.

And there’s also a set of 4 free printable Mardi Gras signs that’ll give you the kind of fun pics you want to put in your album. They’re also great as party decor. Just print and have fun!
💜 Complete Your Mardi Gras Look!
A banner is a great start, but my usual goal is for the whole living room to sing ‘Mardi Gras’! I always think about how all the pieces come together, like making sure your shoes match your handbag.
With your banner as the sparkling centerpiece, here are some easy ways to tie everything together and make your Mardi Gras celebration truly pop:
⭐Color Scheme – Lean into those iconic Mardi Gras colors. Our printables shine with bright purples, lively greens, sunny yellows, bold oranges, and black accents. You can use balloons in these hues, streamers draped across doorways, or even tinsel twisted around railings.
⭐Lights – Nothing says festive like a little twinkle! Drape some fairy lights or colorful string lights around your banner, or coil them around a table centerpiece. They’ll make all that purple, green, and gold glitter truly shine.
⭐Beads, Beads, More Beads – You know those long strands of Mardi Gras beads? Don’t just throw them – use them! You can hang them around your banner, pile them high in glass vases on a table, or even scatter them around your food display.
⭐Tablescape – Your food or dessert table is another prime spot for decor. Use a tablecloth in one of your banner’s colors, and your banner can hang right above it, tying the whole delicious scene together!
