My rule for Mardi Gras is simple: if there aren’t masks involved, it’s just a Tuesday, not Fat Tuesday! And once you put one on, something magical happens. Suddenly, you’re not just ‘you’ anymore, you’re a creature of sparkle and mystery. For instant celebration-chic, I’m sharing these fun free printable Mardi Gras mask templates.

I love a good party, but the planning part can be exhausting so I always try to simplify the logistics. Things can get very time-consuming especially if you’re planning to DIY your decor.
If you’re trying to avoid this, like me, but you still want inexpensive party decor and props, printables are the way to go!
Since there can be no Mardi Gras without masks, I made these printable mask templates as an instant way to crank up the fun without any fuss.
There are 4 cute and colorful masks that come in two sizes (7.5 inches wide for kids and 8.5 inches wide for teens, and adults). Just print them on regular U.S. Letter paper, cut, punch holes in the ends, tie with a ribbon or elastic cord, and you’re ready to party!
⚜️ Masks Templates For Kids (7.5 inches wide)

Kids are the most excited about masks (even if I feel like I’m competing) so we’ll start with the smaller, 7.5-inch wide, size.
I’m sure my son Spencer would have loved these for his pretend play when he was younger.
There are 4 colorful mask templates, 2 per sheet. If your kids are old enough, let them cut the masks, but still keep an eye on them just to be safe. They always love making things with their tiny hands!
🎭 Mask Templates For Teens And Adults (8.5 inches wide)

This larger size is perfect for the teens and grown-ups – we also like to make a bold statement, especially for such a dazzling celebration like Mardi Gras.
You get the same four fabulous designs but one inch wider to accommodate a larger visage.
The best part is, they make great last-minute masks for Mardi Gras, and yes, this happens to all of us. Even if you didn’t plan your celebration, they come together in a few minutes.
📌Tips for Best Results
Don’t get fooled by the title. This is a super easy craft. However, there are a few simple tricks I learned over the years that ensure your Mardi Gras masks turn out looking professionally made.
👉Cardstock, not paper – If you have nothing else on hand, regular paper will do. Flimsy masks are better than no masks. Trust me, though. Printing your masks on cardstock makes a world of difference in how sturdy and pretty your masks will be. Trust me, they’ll hold up to all the Mardi Gras fun!
👉Cut with the right tools – For the outer edges of the masks, a good pair of scissors does the trick just fine. But for those trickier bits, like the eye holes or any intricate designs, I highly recommend using a sharp craft knife on a cutting mat. It’ll give you super clean lines.
👉Tie materials – I like elastic cord best for this, because it obviously stretches and feels more comfortable than any stiff material. Ribbon gives the prettiest look so that’s an option too. How much you need will vary from one person to another. Just measure around the wearer’s head to avoid waste, but do give it some slack for the ties.
👉Securing the ties – Once you’ve threaded your elastic or ribbon through the holes, knot it tightly so it doesn’t come undone while you’re partying. For extra security, I sometimes add a tiny dab of quick-drying glue right over the knot on the back of the mask.
