I’ve always loved having a countdown for Christmas, a tradition that started when Spencer was little and would ask “how many more days?!” a dozen times a day. This free printable Christmas countdown has become a staple in our holiday decor. It’s such a simple tradition, but it brings so much joy to the season.

There is no question that we all spend the time from Thanksgiving to Christmas counting down. This printable helps keep us all straight for how many more days there are left.
For parents, that might mean how many more days there are to shop, wrap, and survive 🤭. For kids, that is how many more days they have until Santa arrives to bring that special gift.
Either way, having a reusable countdown printable helps us all keep the days straight. And it doubles as a cute, festive decoration. Place it in your kitchen, on an end table, or on the living room mantle as a constant reminder.
🔎 How This Differs From An Advent Calendar
This is a reusable countdown to put behind a frame to use a dry erase marker to mark the days each day. You only need a frame to put it into.
An Advent calendar is where you count down the days from December 1 to December 25. Usually, there is a piece of chocolate, pictures, or small trinkets for each day.
🎅🏻 Printable Christmas Countdown Wall Art
There are two designs available – a modern gold design and one that isn’t super Christmasy, but that’s why I like it! Download both or just one.
Both prints are 8×10″ and are sized to fit an 8×10″ frame.

✔️Enter your name and email in the box below, and hit the “Send Me It” button. We’ll send you a download link straight to your inbox.
✔️Save the PDF to your computer and open it using the free Adobe Reader (or any other PDF reader).
✔️Print on 8.5×11” photo paper or card stock at 100% size (to preserve image quality, don’t resize if you can help it). You can also print on 8×10″ photo paper to avoid trimming if your printer can print borderless, but it’s usually harder to find since it’s a less common size.
📝 How To Use
There are 2 easy options for these festive countdowns.
Frame
Frame and use a dry-erase marker to write the number on the glass each day, and just wipe it clean for the next morning!
Laminate
For something a little more durable that you can use year after year, I recommend printing on card stock and laminating it. Once it’s laminated, you can still use a dry-erase marker directly on the surface. Here are a few fun ways to display your laminated countdown without a frame:
📌Clip it onto a clipboard and stand it on your mantel or an entryway table for a cute, farmhouse look.
📌Stick it on the fridge with a festive magnet so everyone sees it when they go for breakfast.
📌Pin it to your family’s corkboard or command center with a decorative thumbtack.
📌Punch a hole in the top center, loop a pretty Christmas ribbon through, and hang it on a doorknob or a hook.
📌Use some cute washi tape to tape it to a door or a wall in your kitchen or living room.
