You know, for a room that’s supposed to be all about getting clean, bathrooms sure can get… messy! All that mess might be tucked away inside cabinets and drawers but it will piss you off every time you try to look for something (well, I hope it’s not just me!). My free printable bathroom decluttering guide makes it so easy to get rid of those items that shouldn’t be there anymore and properly organize the useful ones.

I sometimes procrastinate decluttering the bathroom but I sure figured out when it’s time to do it.
When I put my hand inside the vanity cabinet or a drawer and I come across random items like a rogue bobby pin or a dried-up tube of mascara, I know my spa room needs an intervention.
To fight that urge to procrastinate I created this free printable bathroom decluttering guide.
It breaks down the often-daunting task into simple steps, helping you decide what to keep, sell, donate, or trash with clear, logical questions and helpful category suggestions.
Sure, you’ll still need to allocate some time for this process, but it will be a lot less painful with this helpful sheet. Even more if you have multiple bathrooms!
🛀 Printable Bathroom Decluttering Guide

Bathrooms should be a calm oasis, right? That place where you can decompress, regardless of whether you’re a shower or a bath person. I turned my vision into reality with this printable guide!
It’s truly amazing how much peace a tidy space, especially one where you start and end your day, can bring. Let’s explore how it works.
🤔 Decision-Making Questions
This set of questions is what starts your decluttering process. You’ll ask yourself the same straightforward questions for each item you pick up. It might seem time-consuming, but trust me, it’ll be quick.
These questions are designed to gently guide your decisions and help you sort through everything with confidence.
👉Is this item unexpired, still safe to use, and does it feel fresh? If that lotion smells a bit off, it’s probably time to let it go.
👉Have I used this item in the past 3-6 months, or do I plan to use it regularly? If it’s been tucked away in the back of a cabinet for half a year, chances are you’re not reaching for it.
👉Is this item functional, unbroken, and complete? That hairbrush with missing bristles or the broken curling iron you got attached to must go.
👉Do I have more than one of this item, and do I need this specific duplicate? It’s easy to accumulate multiple tubes of toothpaste or various shades of foundation. Keep what you truly use!
👉Does this item fit comfortably in its designated storage space? If your drawers are bulging or products are tumbling out of cupboards, it’s a sign some of them need a new home.
👉Does this item truly bring me joy or enhance the bathroom’s look? This is your opportunity to reassess decorative items as well as functional items that are problematic.
Think of these questions as a loose guide, but at least one of them needs to answer “Yes” for an item to belong in the Keep pile.
💸 The Sell Pile
Some items are in great condition, or sometimes even new, and they also cost a pretty penny, but they don’t serve your needs. That’s your Sell pile!
- Beauty tools & devices
- Expensive perfumes/colognes
- Specialty skincare sets and items
- Collectible decor or art
- Expensive cleaning appliances
- Small furniture & storage solutions
Before selling anything, take a moment to research online marketplaces or local consignment shops. A little effort here can really pay off!
🎁 The Donate Pile
It’s always a good idea to donate those perfectly usable items that are not valuable enough to be sold. Someone struggling financially will be grateful to have them!
Of course, make sure these items are unopened, unexpired, and in good, usable condition, ready for sharing with others.
- Gently used beauty tools & devices
- Unopened toiletries
- Extra towels or washcloths
- Unused, individually wrapped soaps
- Cleaning supplies
- Unused travel-sized toiletries
- Gently used furniture & decor
Check with local charities, women’s shelters, or even friends and family who could benefit from these items. It’s a wonderful way to declutter your space and give back at the same time!
🗑️ The Trash Pile
I have a knack for holding onto almost empty and dried-up products for no reason at all, until I get too annoyed by the clutter and decide to toss them. Sound familiar?
Off to the Trash pile we go!
- Expired or unsafe products
- Broken items
- Used personal care items
- Empty containers & packaging
- Heavily worn linens
- Anything spoiled, moldy, or unknown
Make sure you properly dispose of them, especially for expired medications, cleaning products, and anything else that might be hazardous.
Remember to check local guidelines for things like old electronics or batteries, too!
✨ The Keep Pile
Once you get to this part, you’re well on your way to a pretty and organized bathroom. Decluttering-wise, the last thing you need to do, is properly sort the Keep pile so every item will have a logical storage location. The categories below will be your guide that allow you to achieve bathroom bliss!
- Hair care & styling
- Body care & soaps
- Makeup
- Dental care
- First aid & medicine
- Cleaning supplies
- Linens
- Beauty devices
- Bath & shower accessories
- Personal grooming tools
- Decorative items

🚿 Bathroom Decluttering Tips
If there’s one thing I learned about decluttering is that it’s never just about decluttering! If you don’t properly organize your items, you’ll go back to chaos in a snap.
The big bathroom purge requires a few more actions to be truly effective.
📌Clean as you sort – As you clear out those cabinets and wipe down surfaces, give everything a good scrub. It’s so satisfying to return your “keepers” to a fresh, clean space!

My trusty free printable room-by-room cleaning checklist is always by my side for this – it helps me tackle each area methodically, and there’s even a blank version for customizing your own unique cleaning routine.
📌Logical homes for items – Once you’ve decided what to keep, think about how you actually use your bathroom. Keep daily essentials right at your fingertips and store less-frequently used items a bit further away.
For example, all your hair styling tools should live together, not scattered between the vanity and a linen closet. Grouping similar things prevents that frantic morning search!
📌Give containers a purpose – Those baskets and bins you’ve got? They’re not just for looking pretty! Use them to corral similar items and give every category a clear boundary. And to make sure everyone (and I mean everyone) knows what goes where, I love using these free printable storage bin labels. They’ve been a lifesaver all over my home, and they work wonders for any room, bathroom included. They’re cute, editable, come in several sizes, and are super simple to print, cut, and stick.
Now that your bathroom is breathing easy, what’s your favorite new organized spot? Tell me about the small changes that made a big difference for you in the comments!
