The long warm days mean that the Countdown to Summer is here and nothing is better than helping the kids get ready for a season of popsicles, sprinklers and swimming. This free printable kicks off summer with a bang!

🍉 Why This Works
Adorable | This countdown screams cuteness at the first glance. You are going to love that it will look attractive hanging from a door or special spot in the kitchen.
Kids Involved | Because all of the pieces of the watermelon are cut out for the countdown, get the kids involved to start cutting out each piece and help attach to the string/ribbon.
Reusable | This isn’t dated so you can use it each year over and over again like you would the holiday countdown. This works great because it’s only up for a couple days a year and so it won’t get “old” looking at it.
☀️ Included
The entire set of the main sign along with the pages to cut out for the drop down watermelon pieces. You only have to provide the string or ribbon for a sweet free summer decoration.

Expert Tips
Put something sturdy behind the main sign to hang it up or at least try to hang it up from both ends and not the center. If you try to do it from the center, the ends will start to fall and it will not look nice at all.
You could consider spending a couple bucks and laminating the entire set. The great thing about that is that you are able to use this every year and it becomes timeless. The watermelons never go out of style.
Right before summer is an anxious time for kids so I do like to have the littles help cutting. It keeps them busy and focused instead of you doing all the work and then stripping down the piece of watermelon each day.
