You know that feeling when you need a vacation, but your wallet’s giving you the side-eye? I found the answer: a cozy, budget-friendly staycation. Skip the packing, the busy airports, and overpriced souvenirs, and create a dreamy getaway right at home with this free printable staycation planner!

It’s not even just about a tight budget. More often than not, vacations are tiring: all the travelling, visiting, and sometimes even jet lag can really add up. But isn’t this contradictory? We need rest, right?
Of course, a staycation can be more than being stuck in your pajamas reading stacks of books and binge watching movies and TV shows. There are tons of fun activities and sightseeing you can do in your local area.
And that’s where my free printable staycation planner comes in! It made it super easy to map out exciting local adventures, from exploring hidden gems in your area to finally trying that new restaurant everyone’s been raving about.
Let’s make this staycation an adventure, but one that leaves us refreshed and recharged!
📓 Cover Sheet

Okay, this one’s pretty straightforward, but oh-so-important. You can organize your staycations in binder and keep them neatly separated.
👉At the bottom of the sheet you can write down your staycation dates. It’s gonna be a great one whether it’s a long weekend or a glorious week!
💡 Staycation Brainstorm Sheet

Ever wondered how some of your friends are able to plan such magical vacations? Well….planning is the secret. And it all starts with a good brainstorming session which you can pour onto this practical sheet.
You have sections for:
👉Themes – This is where you can get creative! Want a spa day staycation? A backyard camping adventure? A hiking spree? Write it down! Themes help give your staycation some focus but it’s okay if you prefer mixing things up.
👉Activities – Let’s get those ideas flowing! Anything goes, from finally tackling that puzzle to attending a local concert.
👉Meal & Snack Ideas -While it’s fun to treat yourself to a restaurant meal or two, remember that home-cooked meals are your budget’s best friend. Planning your meals is key to a stress-free and delicious staycation! And you can further expand these plans with my free printable weekly meal planner.
👉Budget – Even staycations have costs, so let’s keep it real. This field helps you allocate funds for any special treats or supplies.
🕓 Daily Schedule

I’m a big fan of organized fun! If you’re going to make the most of your free time, you should definitely plan it.
👉This daily schedule sheet has a spot where you can write the “Date” and another one to choose the day of the week. I fill one for every day of my staycation to stay on top of things.
👉Use the “Morning”, “Afternoon”, and “Evening” columns to loosely plan your day. There’s also a handy “Notes” section for anything and everything that need to be written down.
🚗 Day Trip Planner

I find it hilarious how we can easily ignore the gorgeous sights and interesting activities available in our own areas. If you’re planning any little outings, this day trip planner is your best friend!
👉Start by writing the “Name/Destination” of the trip, the “Date”, “Location/Address”, and “Budget”.
👉Then, use the “Schedule” to map out your day trip timeline and the “To Dos” list to keep you on track.
👉The spot for “Food” can be used to plan what food you’ll be packing, but it’s also a great place to jot down the restaurants you want to try. I love indulging in some local cuisine, and a staycation is the perfect excuse to do it!
🏠 Rainy Day Activity Planner

Now, don’t let the name fool you! This sheet isn’t just for rainy days. Think of it as your “Indoor Fun” or “Cozy Day” planner.
It’s perfect for those days when the weather isn’t cooperating, when you’re feeling a bit under the weather yourself, or even when you just need a break from all the hustle and bustle. And let me tell you, it’s a lifesaver for parents looking to keep their kiddos entertained!
Here’s how to use it:
👉Activity – Write down the activity itself. This could be anything from “Build a fort” to “Have a family game tournament” to “Start that big puzzle.”
👉Source – Where did you get the idea? A book? A website? YouTube? Write it down!
👉Supplies – What supplies do you need, and where are they coming from? “Craft box,” “Grocery store,” etc.
Steps/Process – This is where you write down the instructions or a quick outline of how to do the activity. This is especially helpful for more involved projects or for keeping things organized.
👉Expenses – Keep track of any costs involved, like craft supplies or special snacks.
