This 10-minute Air Fryer Chicken Patty recipe is perfect for those days when you are running ragged in the evening and just don’t have the time to make a more complex meal. Always keep a bag of these frozen patties handy for those busy days.

Fast – This recipe is perfect for those nights when you are in a rush an unable to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. It will take you less than 10 minutes to air fry the chicken patty and assemble a sandwich.
Delicious – The air fryer makes the patty so crispy, it is just out of this world! The inside stays nice and juicy, and the crispy coating just can’t be beat.
Versatile – If you don’t have all the fixings to assemble a sandwich, you can simply slice it up and serve with veggies. I even sliced it up to add to my ramen to serve as a makeshift tempura. Be creative!
Frozen Chicken Patties – I buy the large bags in the grocery store so I always have a few on hand for those busy days. This particular variety happens to be in the shape of chicken breasts, but there are also circular shapes ones as well.
Please note that this is not the true frozen chicken breast. This is a patty, made with white chicken meat, shaped and breaded. These are also called fritters. It is important to note that these are precooked, so the air fryer is just defrosting and heating them up.
⏲️ Equipment and Tools
Air Fryer – This recipe works in Air Fryer Ovens like the Power XL, NuWave or Breville or the basket versions like the Ninja, Ninja Foodi, Cosori, Phillips and more. When using the oven versions, cook the chicken on the MIDDLE rack.
Silicone Mat – This mat makes cleanup a breeze! It is really inexpensive and will save you a lot of time cleaning up after dinner. Alternatively, you could use the parchment paper liners.
Step One: Line your air fryer basket with a silicone liner. This makes cleanup a lot easier!
Step Two: Add as many patties as needed for the meal. Be careful not to crowd the air fryer, as it will reduce the airflow and the results will not be as crispy.
Step Three: Set the temperature to 390 degrees and the timer to 8 – 10 minutes. Always check at the eight minute mark to make sure they aren’t overcooking.
Step Four: After they are heated, begin assembling the sandwich. I layered a hamburger bun with the patty, a thick sliced tomato, pickles, lettuce and a homemade avocado sauce.
Avocado Sauce: In a small food processor, combine the peeled avocado, half of a bunch of cilantro, ½ cup of sour cream and 2 tbsp of lime juice. Sprinkle salt to taste. Zap it in the processor until blended.
❗ Expert Tips
Do not defrost the chicken patties. What makes the air fryer so special is that you can take these straight from the freezer to the air fryer!
It is best to only use the chicken you plan on eating for the meal and let the rest remain frozen. However, if you do have leftovers, store them in an air tight plastic container in the refrigerator for a few days.
To reheat, separate the patty from the sandwich and use the air fryer for a couple of minutes.
Note: If you microwave the patty, it will turn out soggy. It takes just and extra minute or two to use the air fryer, and you’ll be much happier with the results.
There really isn’t a lot to meal prep for this. You can whip up the avocado dressing and assemble the sandwich in just a few minutes which makes this a perfect alternative from eating out at a restaurant.

Make it without the bun entirely. Pile the veggies on top and simply slice it up instead of eating it as a sandwich.

Not all of them are but these ones are. Always check your packaging to make sure. There are similar looking bags that the chicken is not cooked at all. This would require more time in the air fryer.
They are done when they are hot and crispy. Since they are precooked, you don’t need to worry about that part.

Cook them 1-3 minutes longer. They will come out pretty good the first time because of the higher temperature you are cooking them. We cook them at 390 to get them hot and crispy vs cooking them at 360 degrees. Check them and see how much longer your machine will require them to be.
