I love homemade pizza night, but I definitely don’t always have the time or patience to knead dough and wait for it to rise. So I took a shortcut and used soft, pillowy naan bread as the crust. The result? These fabulous 15-minute personal naan pesto pizzas. They feel a little bit gourmet and taste like you spent way more time in the kitchen than you actually did.

I’ve really been into simple Italian flavors lately, so a lot of our dinners have had a base of pesto, tomatoes, basil, and bright greens like spinach or kale. One meal we’ve really been enjoying is this personal sized pizza!
This might be a vegetarian dish, but you can easily add meat or other veggies. I scour the fridge for things to put on so I don’t have to buy anything.
These are ready in about 15 minutes, and since we’re using naan as the crust, they’re the perfect little single-serve pizzas!
🍕 Ingredients
I think that pizza makes the world go round! What is better than a freshly baked personal pan pizza just for you? These can easily be personalized to fit your likes. Here are the main ingredients that you’ll need.
✅Naan Bread – The thing I love the most about using naan bread is the fact that it tastes phenomenal. Plus, there’s no need to pre-cook it.
✅Pesto – You can either make your own homemade basil pesto or buy it pre-packaged. Pre-packaged is obviously going to be the easiest method. However, fresh basil pesto is amazing and easy to whip up.
✅Toppings – For the toppings, I opted to go with shredded mozzarella cheese, spinach, grape tomatoes, and a little bit of salt and pepper. You can stick with the same toppings, or make some adjustments.
🔥 Instructions
This is my favorite kind on meal! Simple stack the ingredients and bake it.
👉Step 1: Preheat oven to 400F. Place the naan on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
👉Step 2: Spread the pesto on the naan bread, leaving about an inch of room on the edges. Sprinkle cheese and top with spinach.

👉Step 3: Place tomatoes on top and sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until cheese has melted and the crust has browned.
📌Note: If you are using a pre-packaged pesto, it might already have salt added, so be careful adding more.
🥬 Meal Prep
Pre-making pizzas is a great way to have dinner or lunch on hand without much fuss.
✔️Prepare the pizzas on the naan bread and wrap them tightly with plastic wrap.
✔️Place them in the freezer until you are ready to bake them.
✔️There is no need to thaw them before baking; simply add a couple of minutes to the baking time and keep an eye on them.
📌 Expert Tips
🔸Don’t add too many toppings to the pizzas. Adding too much may require additional cooking time and will result in an unevenly cooked meal as the naan bread is already cooked from the start.
🔸Don’t skip the parchment paper because it helps you with cleanup and prevents any mess if the cheese melts over the edge.
🔸Watch the edges. Naan bread varies a lot in thickness. Keep an eye on them during the last few minutes of baking, as the thinner edges can go from perfectly golden to burnt pretty quickly!
🔄 Variations

🔹Swap out the cheese for a different variety. We love the way mozzarella tastes, but there is plenty of cheese that works.
🔹Add pre-cooked sausage, beef, or something similar. Pepperoni is also fine to add on without pre-cooking.
🔹This is my favorite way to use up leftover meat when I make air fryer rotisserie chicken! Just shred a little bit and add it on top of the pesto before you sprinkle on the cheese. It makes it a much heartier meal.
🔹To make it feel really fancy with zero effort, drizzle a little store-bought balsamic glaze over the top right before serving. It adds a wonderful tangy sweetness that pairs perfectly with the basil.
❓ FAQ
This is a very common issue with pesto pizzas. Pesto usually has a lot of oil. Next time, try using a little less pesto, or if using homemade, make sure it’s not too oily.
I explained above how you can turn these personal pizzas into a freezer meal. But this also works as a make-ahead meal. Assemble the pizzas a few hours before baking, wrap them in foil or clingfilm, and keep them in the fridge until you’re ready to bake them.

Oooh goodness! I’m doing a meatless dinner week and I selected you pizza for tonight. I never had naan bread until today too. This pizza was amazing and I’m about to post on IG!! Thank you my daughter loved it as much as I did. This will be on our menu again sometime. May even attempt to make the naan bread next time if I’m feeling ambitious.
