This quick and easy Smoothie Popsicles Recipe is the perfect treat to welcome warmer weather. Five minutes of prep time and this frugal snack comes together fast.
My favorite sweet treat when the weather warms up is blended frozen bananas and strawberries, and I made it as often as I could last year before it got too cold to be practical.
Now that spring is upon us and things are heating up, I’m happily breaking out the food processor again and getting into frozen treat mode!
I wanted something fresh, so I created this strawberry banana smoothie popsicle recipe.
This recipe has less added sugar thanks to using Splenda and since we’re using coconut milk, this recipe is vegan friendly!
The banana and coconut milk make these super creamy (which I guess is kind of a requirement in a smoothie popsicle). The fresh chunks of strawberry brightens the whole thing up, and the lime juice and Splenda creates a great tart to sweetness balance.

🍌 Ingredients
There are only five ingredients needed to make these popsicles. They are OH, SO GOOD! Let’s take a look at what you need.
Fruit: Use a combination of strawberries and bananas. It gives the perfect natural sweetness and texture to the popsicles. I added some lime juice, and it’s the perfect zip you need to make it extra special.
Coconut Milk: Not only does the coconut milk taste like you are on a tropical island, it’s so creamy too. If you really want to have fun, make your own homemade coconut milk!
Splenda: To add even more sweetness, you will need a little bit of a sweetener. Yum!
🍓 Instructions
Step One: Thinly slice three to four large strawberries and set aside. Add all of the other ingredients to the food processor. Blend for about 30 seconds, until the mixture is creamy.
Step Two: Evenly distribute sliced strawberries between all popsicle molds.
Step Three: Pour mixture into each popsicle mold. Tap the mold down a few times to release any air bubbles, then top up with more mixture as necessary. Insert popsicle sticks.
Step Four: Freeze for five to six hours. Run the molds under warm water to help remove popsicles. Or, to get them all at once, fill a large casserole dish with warm water, and sit the mold in the casserole dish for a few seconds.
📌 Expert Tips
- I only have one popsicle mold and had leftover mixture (this recipe makes 10 to 14 pops), so I poured myself a smoothie with the leftovers. You know, for the sake of recipe testing. 🤣 I’m happy to report that it’s just as good in liquid form!
- Try out other fruits like pineapple, mango, or peaches. Let us know what combinations work well so we can try it too.
- It’s vital to run the popsicle molds under warm water, or they won’t come out of the molds easily.
Recipe FAQs
Peaches, mango, pineapple, kiwi, and the list goes on and on. There are so many fruit combinations that would work well. You could even add some blueberries for a fun purple color too.
Typically, as long as they are frozen, they will last 3-4 weeks. This is perfect for making a larger batch and having them on hand during the summer heat.
Don’t worry at all if you don’t have a popsicle mold. You can use little paper cups, leftover yogurt containers, ice cube trays, or even muffin tins.
