You’ll love this amazing Air Fryer Steak Tips recipe. It takes just 15 minutes to make a delicious meal that you’ll go back to time and again!

🍽️ Why This Works
Fast | Sometimes I feel like a good red meat dinner, but don’t want to spend the time to heat up the grill. This recipe is unbelievably fast and effortless!
Flavorful | I had some ribeyes and those worked perfectly! They were well-marbled with fat and the flavors were out of this world. I also used a package of beef steak tips from Butcher Box and couldn’t have been happier!
🍖 Equipment and Tools
Air Fryer | These tips work out in all of the machines whether you have a basket version like the Ninja, Ninja Foodi, Cosori or New House. We originally made our first couple rounds in our Instant Vortex Plus oven version as we wanted bigger batches and it works so good.
Measuring Spoons | We love the stainless steel ones so they don’t warp in the dishwasher.
Ziploc Bag | Marinating in a bag is great when you want to squeeze and shake the marinade to get to all the sides of the meat. A bowl will work just fine as a substitute.
🥩 Ingredients

Steak Tips | I prefer to use fattier cuts of beef for the steak tips. We aren’t marinating them, so you want a nice, tender cut that is packed with flavor

Horseradish Sauce | While I love the steak plain, dipping it in this homemade sauce is insanely delicious! We make this sauce when we grill our meat outside or when we enjoy the Instant Pot Brisket or Air Fryer Tri Tip Roast.
📝 Instructions
Steak Tips

Step One: Cut the steak into small, ¾” chunks. Combine the olive oil, seasoning and salt and pepper in a bag. Add the steak tips and squeeze around to fully cover. There really isn’t a need to marinate these as they will be nice and tender.
Note: If you use a leaner cut of beef, you will benefit from marinating for an hour or so. I really like the speed of air frying, and chose a fatty ribeye to eliminate the need to wait.
Step Two: Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees. Lay the cut steak on a tray or basket, depending on your model.
Step Three: Cook for four minutes and turn them over. Then cook for another four, or until the steak is at the desired internal temperature.
Step Four: While the steak tips are cooking, make the horseradish sauce.

Variations
This recipe is screaming to be made with different variations so don’t be shy here.
- Herb Based Seasoning – Use your favorite herbs in place of the steak seasoning.
- Garlic Lovers Steak Tips – Toss with 3-6 minced garlic cloves instead of the steak seasoning.
- Whole Garlic Rub – Open up a clove of garlic and cut in half to rub all over each steak tip for a truly infused garlic flavor.
- Garlic Herb Butter – Make a simple salt and pepper mix for put them in the air fryer. When they come put slather them with 1-2 tablespoons of garlic herb butter. The butter will hit that steak and start to melt down and around the crevices and taste so good.
- Marinated Steak Tips – Use your favorite steak marinade to infuse a deep flavor into the meat.
🍲 Meal Prep
This is a fantastic recipe to meal prep with just a couple of steps.
If you are cutting your own steak, do that ahead of time. Also, take a few minutes to gather the bag, oil and seasoning. Combine them in the bag and then add the meat right before you are ready to cook. This allows you to come home, turn on the Air Fryer, put the meat in the bag that is already ready, squish the bag and put on the trays or in the basket. You’ll have the meat cooking in less than two minutes.
🧊 Storage/Freezer Friendly
Store the leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the microwave for one minute or in the air fryer for two minutes. If you cooked your tips until they are well done, they are going to be tough to reheat.
Freezing these are so easy and I love to make extras, add vegetables for make ahead meals like the Lean Cuisines for three months.
If you choose to freeze the steak tips individually, consider flash freezing them on a sheet pan for 3-6 hours first and then transferring to a freezer friendly Ziploc bag for up to three months. Print out the Freezer Tips and Storage Times guide if you have questions.
The horseradish sauce keeps in the refrigerator for up to two weeks in a covered container like we show in the photos.

❗ Expert Tips
Know how you like your steak and don’t over cook it. See the temperatures below if you are not familiar with how done you like your meat. If you like them cooked to a medium rare, cook them less time and check them early.
Cut in similar sizes so they can cook at the same pace/rate or you will end up with pieces that are overdone next to pieces that are overdone.
Don’t put too many pieces in the Air Fryer too close to each other or the air won’t flow through properly.

Recipe FAQ
Traditionally they are tips from sirloin steak that are cut off. You can make this recipe with any small chunks of red meat though with the same results. We love to use ribeye steak like this as it marbles nicely and is so tender.

Absolutely. We made this recipe with the steak tips that came in our Butcher Box but we love using ribeye in the same way. Consider using strip steak for this as well as it has a little bit of fat to increase that flavor.
Horseradish is the cream colored root that is grown underground. Prepared horseradish is where it has been grated from that root with a little vinegar and salt. When you go to a steak house and get a side of horseradish, you are actually getting a little container of horseradish sauce / cream like we make here
You sure can.
The prepared horseradish isn’t 100% creamy so unless you want to use your blender, that is what the texture will be. You will not notice it when you eat it though.
Look for prepared horseradish near the mayonnaise and mustard. I usually find it one shelf down from the top. You do not need to go to a specialty grocery store to find this.
