When the clutter becomes part of the décor, you know it’s time for a serious refresh! But with all those distracting spring scents, I certainly needed some extra motivation to get started. This free printable 30-day spring cleaning challenge was just the kick in the pants I needed. Tackling one chore a day for an entire month makes spring cleaning much more doable and you’ll love the results!

I sure wish “spring cleaning” would mean opening a window and waiting for a strong breeze to do most of the work. I would probably “spring clean” every day!

The truth is the opposite: this is a very thorough cleaning and decluttering job and approaching just one task a day makes it a lot less intimidating. So if you’re like me and need a little nudge (or a full-blown shove) to get your home sparkling, you’ll love this free printable 30-day spring cleaning challenge.

There are 30 color-coded chores – one per day. The work is organized to go from top to bottom. Cleaning the floors before dusting the ceiling fans makes no sense! Just print the challenge on regular U.S. Letter paper (8.5×11″) and you’re good to go.

🧹🧽 30-Day Spring Cleaning Challenge

One chore a day keeps the clutter away.

Just to be clear: this is a spring cleaning calendar made by a person who hates cleaning. That’s obviously me! What this means? It’s focused on maximum productivity but also on making sure you actually CAN tackle that one chore per day.

Like I said, there’s a logic to these chores and their order. I went with cleaning from top to bottom which is the most efficient way. Chores are color coded and organized as follows:

➤Living spaces (Pink) – This is obviously everywhere for which the given chore applies

➤Bedrooms (Blue)

➤Bathrooms (Orange)

➤Kitchen (Green)

Still, don’t forget that you can do the chores in whatever order works best for you. Just make sure to circle the ones that you finish. That’s definitely the most satisfying part for me.

👉 Days 1-3

And we’re off to a rough start! The top areas can be challenging to reach so if you need a ladder or a chair to climb on please make sure they’re sturdy enough to hold you.

  • 1. Dust vents & fans (Living Spaces)
  • 2. Wipe down light fixtures & chandeliers (Living Spaces)
  • 3. Clean curtains, blinds, & shutters (Living Spaces)

👉 Days 4 & 5

We worked hard so these next few days are for bedroom cleaning and decluttering.

  • 4. Wash bed linens, pillows & duvets (Bedrooms)
  • 5. Organize closets & drawers (Bedrooms)

👉 Days 6-8

For days 6-8, we’re picking back up on whole house chores. It’s most productive to carry out a task throughout the entire home. I know, it’s also a bit repetitive. Some music blasting in my earbuds always perks me up, maybe it’ll work for you too!

  • 6. Wipe down chairs & tables (Living Spaces)
  • 7. Wash windows (Living Spaces)
  • 8. Wash doors, door knobs, & frames (Living Spaces)

👉 Days 9-12

Now that we’re properly warmed up, it’s time for some gross work in the bathroom! Well, at least these tasks are not too time-consuming. I like to take comfort in what I can.

And on day 12 you’ll have another whole house chore to get through. Dust bunnies be gone!

  • 9. Deep clean toilet (Bathrooms)
  • 10. Unclog shower drain (Bathrooms)
  • 11. Clean toilet plunger & brushes (Bathrooms)
  • 12. Dust all hard to reach areas (Living Spaces)

👉 Days 13-16

The kitchen is a difficult area to tackle – the place where we store and cook our meals is the most prone to dirt and clutter.

Yes, it will take 3 days to sort through all of your stored food and clean the fridge, freezer, and pantry. But you’ll love it the next time you cook something. Finding everything in its place, properly organized is like a breath of fresh air!

On day 16th, we’re easing up a bit, dusting some electronics and calling it a day.

  • 13. Declutter & clean pantry (Kitchen)
  • 14. Declutter & clean kitchen drawers (Kitchen)
  • 15. Organize and clean fridge & freezer (Kitchen)
  • 16. Dust electronics (Living Spaces)

👉 Days 17-20

After closing up the bathroom work (except the floors which are left for last) more important kitchen chores await.

  • 17. Wipe down sink & shower/bathtub (Bathrooms)
  • 18. Wipe down mirrors, counters & cabinets (Bathrooms)
  • 19. Clean the oven, dishwasher, & microwave (Kitchen)
  • 20. Clean & organize under the sink (Kitchen)

👉 Days 21-25

I like to sprinkle in some easier tasks after a few more intensive chores. On day 21, it’s just mattress cleaning and rotating. Honestly, this needs to be done regularly. And don’t skip the rotating and even flipping occasionally. This way the mattress doesn’t deform.

  • 21. Clean & rotate mattresses (Bedrooms)
  • 22. Wipe down backsplash & cabinets (Kitchen)
  • 23. Dust & wipe furniture (Living Spaces)
  • 24. Vacuum/wipe the couch (Living Spaces)
  • 25. Clean & disinfect the trashcan (Kitchen)

👉 Days 26-30

We’re close to the big finish! The final chores are focused on the bottom areas and kitchen appliances. I don’t want to clean the appliances too early during the challenge so they don’t get dirty by the time I finish.

Floor cleaning is the last chore. And trust me, if you’re armed with your vacuum cleaner and mop, it’s one of the fastest tasks and a light workout I actually appreciate.

  • 26. Deep clean rugs & carpets (Living Spaces)
  • 27. Wipe baseboards (Living Spaces)
  • 28. Wipe down appliances (Kitchen)
  • 29. Clean & organize desks (Living Spaces)
  • 30. Sweep/vacuum & mop floors (Living Spaces)
