📅 Calendar Planning Hacks For A Cozy November
Once you print your favorite November calendars, it’s time to put them to good use. I’ve been practicing calendar planning for years and over time I found out some excellent methods to stay organized.
Here are a few of my tried-and-true tips that will let you stay on top of your busy life this November, and all the months that will follow!
🌈 Color-Code Your Way to Clarity
Remember those color-coded folders in school? Well, they weren’t just for show! Grab your favorite highlighters or colored pens and assign a color to each category of your life. This visual trick makes it super easy to see what your month looks like at a glance. Here’s my color coding system to help you get started. Feel free to change it and add more colors to yours if you need to:
- 🔵 Blue – Work deadlines and meetings
- 🟢 Green – Family activities
- 🔴 Red – Important events
- 🟠 Orange – Errands and chores
- 🟡 Yellow – Social commitments
- 🟣 Purple – Self-care
✏️ Embrace the Power of the Pencil
Life is full of surprises, and sometimes plans change. That’s why I like to use a pencil when filling out a calendar for the first time, especially for the fluid tasks and obligations. It’s much easier to erase and adjust than to scribble things out with a pen. (Trust me, I’ve learned this the hard way!)
Another option is to laminate your calendar and use a dry-erase marker. You get endless edits and zero headaches.
🎯 Break Down Big Goals
November can be a busy month, and it’s easy to get overwhelmed. So, if you have any big projects or goals, break them down into smaller, more manageable tasks. Instead of writing “Plan Thanksgiving dinner” on your calendar, try “Finalize guest list,” “Shop for ingredients,” and “Bake pies.” Seeing those smaller steps can make the whole process feel less daunting.
With that said, monthly calendars have one major drawback – you get limited space to write in for each day so they don’t allow for detailed planning. They’re just an overview of the month, which is great, but not enough.

I always pair them with these free time blocking printables. There are daily and weekly sheets that let you plan every hour of the day. It’s an easy way to achieve full control over your schedule. Isn’t that what we all want?
🧘♀️ Schedule in Some “Me Time”
Remember what I said about my goals to stay active this month? I’m sticking to them. I use this free printable fitness planner to map out my workouts and physical activities.
And I have another secret: my free printable weight loss tracker is also great for weight maintenance. Even if you have some weight to lose, don’t forget that weight maintenance is something you do for life!
However, rest and relaxation are also important so don’t forget to schedule some time for yourself. Don’t forget that you can’t take care of your loved ones if you don’t take care of yourself first!
✨ Things To Do in November
My November is going to be very active. Between my pie-baking experiments there will be plenty of fun workouts, walks, and other physical activities. I hope to enjoy all the fall and winter goodies without seeing the numbers on the scale go up!
🥧 Thanksgiving
First things first, Thanksgiving! This is one of my favorite holiday dinners. You gotta love that yummy roasted bird, the mashed potatoes, the stuffing and the cranberry sauce!
Nevertheless, planning the feast can be overwhelming, even if you’ve done it many times before. Believe me, I’ve had my fair share of kitchen meltdowns!
This is why I created some printables to help all of us go through the preparations without stress or anxiety.

My free printable Thanksgiving planner has everything you need to whip up a memorable feast – a menu plan, a cooking schedule, a timeline, a guest list, and more!
Another option is to host a potluck-style Thanksgiving. Everyone participates and there’s less pressure on you! It’s a more casual and relaxed Thanksgiving.
The free printable Friendsgiving menu plan will help you keep track of all those yummy dishes. And if you also need some matching printables for your party and table decor you can grab my free printable and editable Friendsgiving menu, the editable Friendsgiving place cards, and these fun Friendsgiving photo signs.
🍂 Fall Activities
November is a month of transition from fall to winter. Even if the weather is chilly, it’s still worth enjoying the great outdoors! Unless, of course, you live somewhere where “chilly” means “blizzard.” In that case, maybe stick to indoor activities!
Me and Jason often go for walks and bike rides, at local fall festivals, and having backyard BBQs with our friends and family. And when the weather is not cooperating I go back to my baking experiments or we embark on a movie marathon!
🛒 Black Friday
Black Friday is a double-edged sword: not all those sales are real so it’s worth making a plan in advance. Ending up with a cart full of things you don’t need just because they were 50% off is far from ideal! Decide on the items you actually need a few months ahead and track their prices.
If you’re careful this is also a great time to get some amazing deals for your holiday shopping. Of course, the free printable November 2026 calendars can help you plan your shopping strategy and make sure you don’t miss any deals.
🎁 Preparing for the Holidays
I made it a habit to prep for the holidays early. If you think November is too early, let me tell you, I even started planning for Christmas in October and it was perfect!
This free printable Christmas planner is my weapon of choice when it comes to holiday organization. I also use this holiday gift tracker to make sure I find meaningful gifts that are within my budget.
Now that we’re all officially in holiday planning mode, I’m curious – what are your favorite ways to stay organized during this crazy time of year? Any tips or tricks you’d like to share? Let’s chat in the comments! 🦃
