Oh. My. Gosh. Every once in a while I have a recipe idea that I know instantly is pure genius before I ever try it. And I was right. These Pizza Rolls in Air Fryer (homemade and Totinos) knock it out of the park! Make them from scratch or use frozen pizza rolls (instructions included).
Making your own homemade Air Fry Pizza Rolls are a smidge bit harder than popping open a box of your favorite Totinos but not much. These little pizza pockets are both delicious with their meat, sauce and cheese dripping out of them with every bite.
🍽️ Why This Works
Easy | Get the kids involved and have them help roll up the pizza bites. It’s a kid-friendly process and your batch of pizza rolls for the fam will be ready to go in minutes.
Fast | You won’t believe how easy it is to make these little envelope pockets and then once you’ve made up a batch it only takes about six minutes in the air fryer. Your snack-lovers will have air fryer pizza rolls in their bellies in no time.
Crunchy | Those egg roll wrappers crunch up so beautifully in the air fryer. It’s such a pleasing texture – and with better ingredients, these homemade rolls are better than store-bought! If you’ve been wondering how to make these, this recipe is going to blow you away.
🍕 Ingredients
Eggroll Wrappers | You can find these in the International aisle of your local grocery store, or if needed you can head to the nearest Asian grocery store to pick them up. Can you believe we are using such an ingredient to make pizza rolls? I promise you are going to love how this turns out!
Mozzarella | I used a fresh mozzarella log and shredded it in the food processor. You can use shredded cheese.
Pepperoni | If you buy regular pepperonis you will cut these into quarters. You could also use mini pepperonis or the little pepperoni cubes.
Pizza Sauce | Any pizza sauce will work. Ragu Quick Sauce is an easy choice available at most grocery stores. This is an optional ingredient for dipping.
🔥 How to Air Fry Pizza Rolls (2 Ways)
Homemade Instructions
It’s easy to learn how to cook these pizza rolls in the air fryer, whether you are using a basket version or oven/tray version.
Step One: Lay your wrapper out. Place 1 tbsp cheese in the middle of the wrapper. Place 9 quartered pepperoni’s (or mini pepperoni’s).
Step Two: Using some water, wet the four edges of the wrapper. This will make them slightly sticky and they will form a seal
Step Three: Fold in the right and left corners of the wrapper.
Step Four: In the top corner and roll the wrapper closed. Add water to help seal the wrapper closed.
Step Five: Place egg rolls in the air fryer basket in a single layer and spray with oil. Just use a little bit to help them crisp up.
Step Six: Cook on 350 for four minutes, flip and cook for two minutes more.
Step Seven: Let them cool and dip in marinara sauce or ranch dressing.
🥶 Totinos Pizza Rolls
When making Totino’s frozen pizza rolls, set the temperature to 380 degrees and cook for 6-8 minutes, turning at the halfway point. Always allow a minute or two to cool or the cheesy insides and filling runs right out and you risk burning yourself.
⏲️ Equipment + Tools
Air Fryer | For this recipe, the only thing needed is the AF of your choice. Always remember that each AF will vary, so start with the lowest times until you get to know yours. I used my Ninja Basket for this one but have done it in my Instant Vortex as well. Both work well but the Vortex requires preheating and will cook faster.
Always remember that depending on the size of your machine, how much you can fit into it varies and may require you to cook multiple batches.

❗ Expert Tips
This recipe calls for spraying with oil. Use a standard cooking spray, or grab an oil sprayer bottle to use with standard vegetable oil or olive oil. These bottles are handy and allow you to pick and choose the types of oil used on your food.
If you don’t have any spray oil, simply brush on the olive oil with a brush.
Yes, you can freeze uncooked pizza rolls! Spread them out on parchment paper on a tray in your freezer first, and then once they are frozen, throw them all into a freezer-safe Ziploc bag.
It is so handy to have these on hand for an after-school snack or last-minute party. You don’t even need much time to cook.
The air fryer works best when there is plenty of room for air circulation. Don’t try to make too many at once! If you are cooking for a large crowd, use a tray version of the classic air fryer or a convection oven.
Remember that every air fryer works slightly differently so always test the time based on the lowest number given or check a minute or two ahead of time until you know how your personal machine works. Our Instant Vortex 7-in-1 cooks a little faster on the upper tray level than our Ninja basket.
Don’t overstuff the fillings or the cheese and sauce will leak out and become a mess.
To make clean up a breeze, we love using liners in the AF now. Whether it’s the parchment paper or the silicone version, they are both fantastic and work wonders.

Recipe FAQ
We cook our homemade pizza rolls at 350º for about six minutes.
You do not have to stick with pepperoni for our homemade pizza rolls. You can use cooked ground sausage, cooked and chopped bacon, chopped figs with prosciutto, rinsed, chopped, and sauteed mushrooms, onions, or red pepper. Basically, any pre-cooked pizza topping could work. You can even make plain cheese. Just be careful not to over-stuff the eggroll wrapper!
You can make as many pizza rolls as you like. Eggroll wrappers can be purchased in larger packages (and varieties) at an Asian supermarket. Just know that you cannot put too many in your air fryer at one time, since that will block the air circulation.
To make them in bulk you might want to invest in a larger tray-style air fryer like the Instant Vortex 7 in 1 or the Oster XL. Alternatively, use the convection setting if you have it on your oven.
They are best used chilled so don’t leave them out exposed to the air. Take one out and cover the remaining until you are ready to roll the next one. If you get interrupted, put them in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to chill them again.
No, the spring roll versions are so delicate and thin that they are not considered an ideal substitute. Stick with the egg roll wrappers.
Set the air fryer to 350 degrees and cook for 2-4 minutes, just to warm up the center as the outside is already cooked.
Make the rolls and put in a container or on a tray, covered in the refrigerator for up to one day. When ready to cook, remove from the refrigerator and cook as directed. Since all of the ingredients are chilled at the time of cooking, they will most likely need the full time or even an extra minute.
Make these ahead of time for game days and holiday parties
